Sargassum seaweed invasion observed on Barbados' South Coast beaches, particularly in Accra and Rockley areas of Christ Church. Beachgoers surprised by sudden appearance after weekend's clear shores.
Sargassum seaweed continues to invade the coastlines of Barbados.
Yesterday, a large amount of the algae, which usually accumulates in large heaps on the East Coast, was spotted on the South Coast beaches, particularly in the areas of Accra and Rockley in Christ Church.
One beachgoer said it had to wash ashore overnight as over the weekend the beach was free and clear of seaweed.
