July 27, 2024
Eight party-goers sentenced to 240 hours of community service for unlawfully entering an event by scaling a fence at Bushy Park Race Circuit. Security officers caught them after they tried to avoid paying.
The eight party-goers who crashed an event last weekend will each have to perform 240 hours of community service.
That was the sentenced handed down by Magistrate Joy-Ann Clarke when the youngsters – aged 16 to 25 years – returned to the District “C” Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
On Monday they had pleaded guilty to unlawfully entering the We Ting J’ouvert event by scaling the fence, in a wanton manner (trespassing), upon Bushy Park Race Circuit, Bushy Park, St Philip, while it was occupied by Mario Turton on July 21.
Acting on information received, security officers caught the culprits after they jumped the fence of the property to avoid paying at the entry point, and ran towards the patrons who were already inside. They were later handed over to the police. (SD)
