20-Year-Old Man Dies in Christ Church Shooting Incident, Bringing Barbados Homicide Count to 30 in 2024

A 20-year-old man has died following a shooting in Christ Church Friday night, police say.

The victim has been identified as Darian Ward, 20, of Silver Sands in the parish.

Just before 9:30 p.m. police received a report that a man had been shot in his chest and was unresponsive.

Officers responded to the area of Sea Egg Avenue, Breedy Land, Christ Church.

Police say the victim was transported to hospital by a private vehicle, which was escorted by police. He died while receiving medical treatment.

Police say Ward’s death brings to 30 the number of homicides recorded in Barbados for 2024.
