Fines Imposed for Possession of Illegal Gun and Bullets in No. 2 Supreme Court

Lavon Renaldo Godwin Alleyne received a $15,000 fine for possessing an illegal gun and ammunition. He pleaded guilty and was represented by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens.
Lavon Renaldo Godwin Alleyne was fined a total of $15 000 for an illegal gun and bullets when he reappeared in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday.
Alleyne, of Bottom Close, Wildey, St Michael, had pleaded guilty to having a .22 short calibre revolver and six rounds of .22 long rifle calibre ammunition on November 6, 2015.
He was represented by Senior Counsel Angella Mitchell-Gittens, while Senior State Counsel Romario Straker appeared for the prosecution.
Justice Randall Worrell fined Alleyne $10 000 forthwith or 614 days in prison for the illegal gun, in addition to $5 000 in three months or 614 days for the ammunition. (HLE)
