Barbados' Welcome Stamp Programme: 400 Approvals in 2020, Majority from US - Minister Reports

Learn about Barbados' Welcome Stamp program, allowing international travelers to work from Barbados with a 12-month visa. The majority of applicants are from the US. Over 8,300 applicants so far.
Four hundred people were approved last year for Barbados’ Welcome Stamp programme.
The programme which was introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic allows for international travellers to relocate and work from Barbados on a 12-month visa.
Giving an update to the programme during Friday’s Estimates on provision of monies to the Ministry of Tourism, Minister of Tourism, Ian Gooding-Edgehill said the majority of Welcome Stampers were still coming from the US.
“Since the programme was launched . . . we have had a total of about 8 359 applicants including spouse and dependants which range from 65 per cent being individuals and 35 per cent family units.”
